Hi, my name is Teddi Ann. I'm a Divorce Attorney & Mediator with over 20 years of experience in Family Law throughout the State of Colorado. My clients range from multi-millionaires to innocent children utterly helpless in their family situations.
I litigate the horrible divorces you hear about - leaving all decisions to a Judge who knows your family by a case number and a date on their docket. I mediate the high-conflict divorces for the couples who think it impossible to resolve anything and leave with fully drafted agreements. Almost 10 years ago...
It's true. I became the Divorced Divorce Attorney - what a cliche!
We had 2 young children, multiple properties, my business, and potentially international custody issues to resolve, all while upset, angry, and struggling to communicate in a way that you'd think you need to divorce amicably.
As the Divorce attorney, I knew how easy or extremely difficult the process could be. It would all depend on whether or not we could put
our power trips, fear of loss, and emotions
aside to understand the legal process of Divorce was limited to the words and numbers of how we move forward together - separately - as the parents of two beautiful kids who didn't care about the legal status of our marriage.
I remember inviting my husband to lunch to tell him it was time to get Divorced. I told him that Colorado law requires 91 days before a divorce can be final and that I expected our Divorce to be final by that 91st day - just days before my 40th birthday!
We did it! I helped him with the paperwork, I explained the legal process, I drafted our Agreements, he met with a separate attorney to know I wasn't taking advantage of him, we mediated the parenting issues, and just 3 months after filing for divorce, it was over.
I began asking myself, why aren't my clients able to Divorce this easy and confidently? What did I do differently during Divorce that I haven't been able to explain to my clients? How can I help others save time, money, and emotional pain during their Divorce?
